Key Features:
Utilizing a 12 volt 18 amp hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery (SLA) enclosed within a 1000 denier, highly visible safety orange Ballistic Nylon case; the 1218 features 2 fused 30 amp outputs with Anderson Power Pole connectors and a built-in cable pouch that houses the output cable connectors, cables and accessories. The case is equipped with non-conductive heavy duty zippers and a soft grip carry strap.
The 1218 weighs approximatly 13 pounds, yet is easily transported due to the soft grip handle. The 18 Amp Hour battery has plenty of reserve capacity and is the right choice for most Total Stations. For example, a Trimble 5600 will run 15 hours in Autolock mode or 10 hours in Robotic mode.
The fused outputs and polarity protected Anderson Power Pole connectors insures that the equipment under power is well protected from short circuits and reverse polarity problems that can happen with power cables equipped with alligator clips.Standard Accessories:

Unique Features:
The image on the right shows two 1218 packs connected together. The output of one pack is plugged into the output of the second pack. The universal nature of the Power Pole connectors allows for this ability. In this configuration the output voltage remains at 12 volts. However the amp hour rating doubles to 36 amp hours. In fact many 1218 packs can be "chained" together in this way to increase the amp hour rating of the array. The total amp hour rating is the sum of the individual packs amp hour rating. In this example one pack has an instrument power cable connected and the other pack has the SAE 2-pin receptacle attached. The common connection between the packs allows the current draw from both loads to divide evenly between the two battery packs. You could expect approximately 8 hours of run time with A Pacific Crest RFM96W HPB base radio running a full 35 watts (high power mode) with this setup. |

Leica users will appreciate the GEB171 conversion adapter. This is a short cable that plugs into one of the two fused outputs of the 1218 pack and has a 5-pin LEMO SOCKET that accepts all of your standard Leica 5-pin power cables. The additional output can be used to connect other equipment at the same time. |
